What's New at Camelback Mountain Resort for 2008-2009

Release date: 10/2/2008

Camelback Mountain Resort unveils upgrades for 2008-2009 Winter Season. Fortunately, something will be missing.

TANNERSVILLE, PA – Camelback Ski Area is excited to announce a full compliment of upgrades and improvements for the 2008-2009 winter sports season. Of all the new services and products that have been added, the most exciting news concerns something that has been eliminated: 50,000 gallons of diesel fuel. This season, Camelback Mountain Resort will install 110 low energy snow guns. The addition of these guns will reduce the ski area’s energy consumption and absolutely eliminate the use of 50,000 gallons of diesel fuel.

This winter, Camelback is also extending its partnership with Burton Snowboards and Salomon Skis; becoming the only resort in Pennsylvania to be considered a Burton Women’s, Adult, Youth and Freestyle Learn to Ride Center. To fortify this accreditation, Camelback has purchased over 150 women specific Burton LTR boards with proprietary Stiletto bindings and will provide women and freestyle specific instruction. To round-out its rental arsenal, Camelback is also bringing in over 2,000 pair of front entry Salomon ski boots that include women, men and toddler specific sizes and nearly 700 pair of X-Wing 500 series skis.

On the mountain, Camelback is continuing its tradition of providing the best in grooming and terrain with the addition of a new Prinoth Bison X Terrain Park Groomer, new and additional lighting on the Oak Grove Halfpipe and by dedicating over 20 acres and 500 feet of vertical to Terrain Parks and Pipes.

To bring it all back to the snow sports enthusiast, Camelback is offering three great new lift access options. New this winter is the Super Pass, Value Pass and Triple ticket card. All of these products provide the consumer with exceptional value and tremendous flexibility. More information on these products can be found at skicamelback.com. As an added value to the Super Pass, skiers and riders will be eligible for First Trax from 7:30 – 8:30 Saturday and Sunday mornings. Only Super Passholders will be able to savor this rare privilege.
